If they can't track you, they can't gauge your speed

The safety brigade will be out in force (from the car manufacturers POV) to complain about limiting speed when it could be required for safety. I mean, you have X cars on the road, you can assume that Y of them will never be brought in for the limiter fitting (uninsured, untaxed, no MOT type of vehicles). New cars could have a law imposed on them stating that they have to have it fitted by the manufacturer. The older cars will be the fastest on the road. Sometimes you'll need speed to get out of a given situation.

A colleague said to me yesterday that there was no way he'd have a tracker fitted... But then I had a thought...

How long before the fuel pumps read the tracker before dispensing fuel?

UKPIA won't like the increased cost to them of changing the pump mechanisms, even when it's passed on to us anyway. Hell, they don't even want to discuss desiel spills at the moment! They'll fight it to the end. That's big petroleum companies vs the government, the petroleum companies unusually on the side of the people.

I'd be supprised if the government have the cohonas for that battle. If they do, it'll be years before they can do it, because it'll take so long to get every car on the road fitted with a tracking device.

It's much more likely that speed camera's would be upgraded to include numberplate checking.
