Re: Which oil?
Morning all.
Aint life great! I come into work for another 12 hour grind, fire my pc up, only to find that old Baldy has been spouting tosh in my abscence! (apart from the bit about Yanks talking cobblers) I would like to state that at no time have I borrowed any of his feminine items of clothing for the simple reason that they wouldn't fit me, for they would be so huge on my 16 stone frame a good gust of wind would blow me into the next county! I'm not saying he's fat or anything, but his High school photographs were aerial ones! MIAOWWW! And I certainly wont be giving him the Prada bag back, for it matches my lurex dress & tiara perfectly, he can have the lipstick though, it wasn't my shade. Rf9rider, I bet indeed you wish that you had never posed the question. This subject always seems to start a healthy debate (well that's one word for it). Rhythmjunkie old chap, I Stock Shell VSX ultra 10/40 fully synthetic, which would cost another 5 or 6 quid. I can usually fit in an oil change at pretty short notice, & can do it late in the day should you not be able to get here until say early evening. Give me a yell on ; 01623 757887 & we'll arrange it. Cheers. |

Re: Which oil?
I think the best answer to "which oil" is "enough oil", if we spent as much time checking oil levels as we do endlesly debating what sort of ex-dinosaur we use, we'd destroy less engines. I'd sooner try and lube an SV with 2 litres of chip fat than with 100 ml of Royal Purple.

Re: Which oil?
Synthetic is great, especially for High reving quick temp changing machines. and R4 is a good one.
Otherwise I've run Castrol GPS with no noticable side effects... ...If you buy GPS, DON'T! You will save yourself a few quid by buying Castrol GP instead, it's meant to be Mineral, but is in actual fact GPS in a different bottle. (I have a friend who used to work for Castrol...) Aparently it's cheaper to stick the expensive stuff in the cheaper bottle, than it is to strip down and change their machinery! |
