I thought it was about time I got another bike after I got fed up of T140 basket case under the stairs just gathering dust.

I wanted a twin, decent capacity, preferably V twin, decent power but not a hyper-mad kazillion rpm rocket ship, had to be light cuz of the steps, grass bank and ramps that lead to the back yard - didn't fancy a hernia.

Checked out Bike mag to see what was about and blow me, Suzuki were flogging my ideal bike!

I was thinking that one of them there Street Triples would be mine very soon but to be honest, I still get too much fun with the SV to consider hacking myself up with debt again - a couple of months worth of Speed Triple instalments splashed out on the suspension will be money far better spent

My main reasons for wanting an SV were that I read so many good reviews about them being the "ideal first big/sports bike".

They are cheap (enough), cheap insurance group (group 10/11) ... my other option was a CBR600 (ins grp 14)! The SV's are lightweight, and have good handling for a beginner (and also more experienced riders too apparently).

Went for pointy over curvy purely for style

Started looking as soon as I passed test and just happened to see a nice example of a K3 ... so took it out for a test ride and bought it the second I got back

Needed a Bike - Wanted a Vtwin - that wasn't too heavy - could commute practically - & do longer distance trips -

There can be only one....

My only regret is buying such a shiny one -

Looks, price, good reviews, felt good on the test ride...... and not dissappointed.

Was looking at both curvys and pointys, but went for a pointy as I preffered the look.
