I ran a Fog City last year through the winter, and it served me well (except my glasses kept steaming up, so they'll probably get the WUL treatment this year).

From about mid-March I've been running a pinlock with clear and dark inserts, and thats probably the best thing I've used so far - as long as theres some airflow to keep the glasses clear, I could ride as long as I liked.

Anyone got any suggested retailers for stuff like this?

I was getting close to dumping mine because of that when I took my helment off. Finally worked out to put my fingers inside the chin bar and hold it in place. No problems since

I gave my breath guard another go again yesterday and it didn't bother me a bit. Works a treat as a combo with the anti fog spray. Lovely.

Cant remember what the TV programme is called but its the one with 2 old dears that help you sort your home out and they try and use stuff youve already got readily available around the house - anyhoo - they used shaving foam on the bathroom mirror and it completely stopped any steaming/fogging up!! I tried it with my bathroom mirrors and it worked a treat!! I'm gonna give it a go on my visor over the next few days - will post to let you know how effective it is..

Cheers

Is there a specific benefit of using the pinlock system over a stick on insert? I've been through 3 fog city/oxford inserts each lasting about 3 cleans before becoming next to useless.

Might give shaving foam and WUL a go!

Works very well, but you have got to pop it into your gob and suck it for a minute or two to activate it.

I'd say that the advantage that the pinlok system has is the little pins on the visor "push" the insert against the visor. The seal around the edge is then pushed snug against the visor, and if fitted correctly shouldn't allow anything in.

How were you cleaning you previous visors? Were you submerging them in warm water? I guess that would cause the inserts to lose stickyness. Personally I just wipe the outside of the visor, the inside stays pretty clean.

I simply hyperventilate before setting off, breathe in and hold it til I get to my destination. No need for these fancy gadgets!
