Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Supposed professional colleagues who can't change their shift with a weeks notice, even though they get paid to do this & let their colleagues (ie my team) pick up the work, and also don't have the courtesy to reply to voicemail messages when they are supposed to be on shift.
It won't be forgotten

Not good. Are you going back or hoping you'll "settle down" with them.

Is it a good idea to hand you a pool cue tomorrow?

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Applied for a job last tuesday - phonecall on thursday regarding an interview - interview arranged for Mon 27
Interview goes awesomely as I have clear relatable experience and pretty much ticked every box for training and awareness + everything is current with no refreshers needed. "Ok Chris, I'll be letting people know either way on thursday. I don't like letting people dangle" Now sunday and I'm not sure if I want the job if ever offered it (It's 1.5mi from home instead of 17, less hours and money but easier commute and better future prospects/skill development) |

My current clients want to get on and hire the perm head I am filling the gap for but they had to wait for the green light from HR and then let the "talent acquisition" team have first crack at finding suitable internal and external candidates. Sometimes these things take longer than needed, and certainly longer than the hiring manager wants. In this case it suits me as my contract will hopefully get extended. Fingers crossed for you.

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
By my reckoning the commute you currently do probably costs around £6 a day. Then work out what you have to earn per hour before tax to pay for the commute. Sounds like a good move to me.
