… but not cheap. Be interesting to see if it sells at that price.
A clunk at the beginning of the wind on is a good sign. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=010U9oKZqTI |

Re: Vintage film cameras
I don't think it clunks like that though.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Take the bottom off and have a quick look to see if the mechanism functions as per the video. . Check the metering in a dark area and see if it works at low shutter speeds. Ideally, it should make a cat-like miaow... Seriously. Lol.
Can you cut a piece of mirror to size? From a ladies compact mirror for example. Quite thin and plenty of those in the charity shops. Last edited by yokohama; 07-06-18 at 08:35 PM. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
I have the cut to fit sticky car mirror stuff, so I might give that a go. Would lilely have to adjust the rangefinder to suit.

Re: Vintage film cameras
£1 car boot find. Meter doesn't seem to work, but can be used manually. The light seals need replacing as they are made of electrical tape.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Nice little find. Is it a 500G with a scale focus?
I got my Electro GS out, checked the metering etc and all seems to work, Put a roll of XP2 in it and I'll see if there's anything worth a click at the 40s weekend tomorrow. The XE1 is seriously misbehaving though. All the lenses are good, which kind of makes up for it I suppose. Camera shutter speeds are all over the place both in manual and auto. Not what they should be according to the speed dial and inconsistent as well. It looks a complicated one to play about with, Shame as it's a nice machine with a very smooth wind on and a quiet vertical, metal shutter . |

Re: Vintage film cameras
It seems to be, it has manual and auto mode but is a scale/zone focus. Lucky it has manual mode as I think the leaking battery has done in the meter, I can't find any details online for it. Shame about your slr though.
Found this on light seals http://www.ukcamera.com/collect/ricoh_reseal.html

Re: Vintage film cameras
That brings back memories. I can remember putting new seals into a 500G. Quite a jigsaw.

Re: Vintage film cameras
I don't know if mine is sealed properly until I run a film through it. Got a replacement K1000 base plate and battery cover for a couple of quid as well.
