Ophic,

you are deliberately missing the point. It's not about colour, it's about refusing to learn the language and integrate and therefore making a breeding ground for disaffected youth looking for a meaning in life and choosing Isis. My home town in the East Midlands has a sizeable black Caribbean and Indian/Pakistani community amounting to 7% of the towns population. The black & Indian community (brown) is totally integrated with the rest of the population but the small muslim Pakistani community make every effort to insulate themselves from the rest. Some of the older Pakistanis have been in the UK for over 30 years and still don't speak English.

https://www.spectator.co.uk/2016/04/...nd-integrated/

Their religion basically forbids them to integrate and obey laws of the country they live in - they think their religion overrides everything.

Even Trevor Phillips had to admit defeat...

Doesn't take religion to do that. Just come here to Wales and see how well the majority of English immigrants have('nt) learned the language or integrated. Spain too. Cultural and linguistic imperialism in action.

Just thought. The upstream is consistent but the downstream varies massively. As it is Virgin fibre and coax into the house, I assume it's fibre to cabinet and then copper from cabinet to house. Copper coax doesn't give a monkeys which way data is travelling so the fault must be on the fibre side, or at least before it reaches coax.

So, why do I need to be at home to meet the engineer? It must be something away from my house that is playing up.

Nothing important been written in Arabic for at least 500 years at a pinch.

And if you ever go to Patagonia Welsh may still be spoken in a remote place.

I didn't miss that point, you just never made it. Check what you wrote. You mostly complained about what they wore and the economic appeareance of the area. The other chap you responded to complained about being the only white face and too many mosques.

If you don't wanna be branded as racist, then stop being one.

LOL is right!
You just proved Gary's point.
You think your own language is superior to all others and should be adopted by the whole world.
You think it's wrong when people come to your country and don't learn the language and at the same time think you shouldn't have to learn the language or cultures in other countries because you see their language and cultures as trival which actually makes you worse than those you criticize. SMDH

No Bill you miss the point, if you read the article in link that request for English language to be used in EU (instead of French) was made by a former Italian prime minister, he wants English usage to make EU more competitive in world trade, he describes English language as our best export.

It is already a fact that English HAS been adopted by the whole world, it is the language of trade, diplomacy, air traffic control and business etc etc etc that it is not even worth discussing. English lessons are part of the mandatory curriculum of most education systems throughout the world and are as necessary as maths and sciences.

According to the people who speak those languages or according to you?
Nuff' said. Do think that's not insulting to Welsh and Arabic speakers?

Justify it anyway you like you still think English should be the universal language. Correct?
Because it nearly is already makes it OK only because it's your language.

We're doing a lot of that today. Perhaps if you make one worth listening to, we'll pay attention.

So far it's been "I went to an area where the culture was different to mine and I didn't like it so it shouldn't be allowed" and "English is the best language ever, so says one person in the EU." Ok, 2 people in the EU, including yourself, as we're still in it for the moment.

I don't think you missed much, Bill.
