Re: Vintage film cameras
I'll pass on the Kiev thanks.
Does the Minolta lens not disassemble? I'm having trouble getting the 35ED to play ball. I think its because there are 2 battery chambers, designed for big mercury batteries, which don't like my arrangement of scrunched up foil and LR44s. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Kind of, but only to the point where you remove the rear group and the front one is just pressed in. The rears come out as one piece with no obvious way to take them apart. I'll have to do some more digging. Got a new toy on the way, hoping it turns up tomorrow! I tried the foil method before and it seemed to work, maybe I got lucky!

Re: Vintage film cameras
My new toy! Chilling out watching Midsomer Murder Picture of Innocence. It's film vs digital and lots of camera pron. Heatwave is being rained on at present,so much that I'm sweating just sitting here!

Re: Vintage film cameras
Nice, though I'm not 100% sure what it is. Early Zorki?

Re: Vintage film cameras
Sorry, its a Zorki 1e. 1956 model and the last of the 1 series. Basically a Leica clone, seeing as I'll probably never afford a real one!

Re: Vintage film cameras
Wasn't sure if it was a Zorki or a Fed. How close to the top of the queue does it go?

Re: Vintage film cameras
Nice! I had a bit of a go at the Contessamat, the cokking rack was a tooth out, gave it all a clean, need to adjust things and I think it's otherwise fine. RF spot is a bit faint but there is a blue filter in front of the VF which helps by making the main image dimmer and bluer.

Re: Vintage film cameras
The little screwdriver set turned up from Amazon, they really are tiny. But as long as it stops me chewing up screw heads! Good to hear its back together, guess it will join the queue. I sent off the rest of the films from my late grandad to be done, should be back today. I also sent off a roll from the Agfa Clack, spool wasn't tight when unloading so I am expecting light leaks.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Will check the meter tomorrow but I think it's okay, slight vertical misalignment on the RF but the adjuster is stuck fast. I've nearly finished the film in my SLR so I'll give this a go next.
