Sorry to dampen the thread a little but I havent been around here joking on this thread much as my Nan has been really ill this week and finally passed away on Wednesday night

Took the day off yesterday and spent the morning working on my bike on my own just to reflect - sad times...

On a brighter note I got quite a lot done - tank is off - air pump kit mostly removed, bar end has been drilled off (although my cheap mole grips are no match for the thread lock!) so this weekend I should be able to start the rebuild

Thanks guys

Just ordered a K&N air filter as you can even see how dirty the filter is in that grainy photo! Poor bike probably hasn't been serviced in ages as the oil filter looks fairly manky too...

Sorry to hear about your nan Skip. Grandparents are very special and i'm sure you have many fond memories to look back on.

My dad died when my eldest was only 4 and it really pains me that they never knew their grandad. My youngest is named Andrew John (my dad was John) after him, and i cant help but think of my dad when i call him by his full name, usually when he has been naughty which is quite ironic cos my dad was no angel!!

Thinking of you and your family at this sad time x

I do have loads of fond memories of her - my parents both worked so after school and holidays were basically all spent with her and my Grandad - he isn't looking too good either and I am worried that they were basically keeping each other alive (she was 92 and Grandad is 90 + 70 years of marriage!)

Sorry to hear about your Nan Skip, sad news indeed.

I spent a lot of time in the school holidays with my Nan and after I'd had measeles as a child. I was the only one to spend so much time with her.

I was working away when she passed away, and always regreted not seeing more of her. But she lived a long way from Fxt, so always a problem with busy working life etc. But I remember with great fondness of the time that I did spend with her, they were special days indeed.

I doubt its thread lock, more like steel & alloy fusion
