Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Just realised someone has stolen the black cover from the right hand side of my bike! Ordered used one off Ebay for £12. What sort of knob would rather steal another biker's stuff to avoid paying £12?
Hope it falls off and puts the fecker up a tree, upside down with their bike in flames. Nothing personal.

The lights around here are hopeless. You push to cross and wait an age for the green man. Needless to say, you can usually cross safely whilst waiting and most do.

Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Cars
I listed the faults I've had with my car in another thread, but the list is now longer. Glow plugs. The plugs have failed but the tips are seized in the tubes. So that's four tips stuck in the head. Best offer so far is £450 to remove them without stripping the head. But then the cam chain needed replacing anyway. Would anyone like to give me a new car, or winning lottery ticket? |

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Common problem with the Zafira, this bloke can do it without taking the head off, he quoted £120 for the first one, then £60 for the last 3, if you need all three doing. Although if you're doing them, you may as well do all 4
https://www.threadworx.co.uk/ But as you say, if you've got to do the camchain, then the heads got to be taken off.

Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Sounds promising. So if I have that right it's £180 for all four tips?
Then presumably the cost of the new plugs. |

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Sorry £60 for each remaining tip? So £300 plus the replacement's
You can test the glow plugs with a multi meter to see which ones aren't working, but you'll need to Google how to?

Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Sounds about the same price as the guy in Finchley.
The odd thing is Click Mechanic suggests £250 to change the cam chain. If that involves taking the head of, which I thought it did on the Zafira, then I may as well do that and get the tips (it's all of them!) Knocked through with a drift. |

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
May as well if the heads coming off. Although I'd go on a Zafira/Vauxhall owners site and see if it has too, if you haven't already done so?
That's why I haven't had my plugs done yet, as mines coming up to the mileage where the chain needs replacing too. Trouble is; is my car really worth spending that kind of money on, as its 14 years old now?

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Just starting the Probate process for my mum's estate, and part way completing HMRCs online registration when our power tripped out.
Not helped by my brother's inability to remember his NI number, as he got it wrong, the site wouldn't accept it, and then the power went off
