Wired in the bypass relay, two grounds and a permanant 12v live feed for my towbar electrics and didn't set anything on fire.

It's a citroen so it'll probably self combust as some stage anyway

That is the kind of customer service that means people buy from them again. I had one of a pair of Halfords 5 year warranty LED sidelights for the car fail after 18 months, didn't keep the receipt ( who does for £20 ? ) - I had original box ( with Halfords on it, and it had Halfords part number on bulb, but the bulbs I took back matched the picture on box anyway ). They had only been selling that bulb for about 18 months because I bought them as soon as I saw them in their store, they wouldn't do anything without a receipt, I even emailed head office and said they were obviously a Halfords bulb that had not been on sale long, with a 5 year warranty - they wouldn't budge, I have to say I have bought very little from Halfords since, although I used to go there fairly regularly before.... serves the tightwads right.

Sighting of a very rare Gen3 SV650 in the car park at Cadwell Park yesterday. parked next to an even rarer classic Panther 650 single cylinder bike.

Driving past the queuing masses in my Tesla (company leased) is making me smug at the moment.

Yep, just fitted one on my new (to me) Yaris.

The bypass relay takes voltage signals from the various lamp circuits to energise relays for the trailer power. No significant extra load put on the car lamp circuits, power comes down a dedicated line.
It needs a permanent supply because some safety features need to work with ignition off, so power must be supplied to the relay power contacts permanently.

As usual the biggest headache is sorting out how to tap into the signal wires without using those spawn of the devil scotchlok things. Managed to sort out some thin pin terminals which will push into the back of the lamp cluster socket, job done (eventually).

Not a bad day - at Tesco for 6:15 am for grocery shop noticed that the petrol station didn't have queues but I didn't need petrol for the car anyway. I usually take the car for a 20 mile drive after Tesco since I only use it every 3 or 4 weeks and noticed that my usual filling station for my bikes was out of petrol.

I decided to take the SV out anyway since it was sunny - on the way back, riding through Binbrook village I popped into a small garage which had 1 unleaded pump. "Yes, we have petrol - yes, help yourself it's self service and let me know how much you took when you come to pay".

Flower planter boxes between the petrol/diesel/gas-oil pumps (gas-oil is another name for red diesel apparently), no check on how much petrol you took - a couple of mechanics working on someone's car - it was like stepping back 40 years.
