How old are the dogs? Dogs in canicross races become much more focussed then when they are out on training runs I find. Mabel, while she doesn't take random detours when just training, doesn't run with the same determined manner she has when running with other dogs and their runners in a race.

Odie will be 4 in May and Nuala will be 3 in May.

Nuala would be better as she's a bit more sensible than odie. Odie will run and run until he drops

They're both agility dogs

Looks good! I'd say get kitted and run with the two of them on a split lead. It's huge fun.

Have a look here: https://www.k9trailtime.com/shop/

I'd recommend the Rock Empire belt (the one with leg loops), BonoLines parkrun lead and a bunjee splitter for the end of the lead. ZeroDC short harnesses for the dogs are good.

Desperately need to get out for a run but got so much on atm I'm not getting the chance. One more client to visit this afternoon and if I can sort their IT problem out quickly I may get ti e for a shortish run when I get home.

No time for a run yesterday but I finally got out for a short run this morning. Just 3.57 miles but better than nothing, and I didn't struggle as much as I thought I might after not running for a week.

How's everyone else doing?

2.6 miles tonight. Felt easier than last time. Seems to get easier towards the end of the run. I want to try go further at the weekend when I have a bit more time

I always find the first mile or so the hardest Darren. After that it feels like my body has settled into the rhythm of the run. Hills still make me work hard but more on the legs than the lungs.

Well done on pushing that distance up. Have I asked you this - are you running on trails or tarmac?

Yeah that's what it felt like.

I'm just running on tarmac. I don't like running on uneven surfaces

I got out for a run on Tuesday, just 5k. Going out again tomorrow at some point and going to try for a long run again, try to beat my previous 13k distance

Half marathon is in 2 weeks
