I have one of those, batteries are worth more than the camera! Not tried it out yet.

If you really want to see an ugly camera then search for Airborg. Been tinkering with the Konica 260 rangefinder, it had a shutter co-king issue, the rack won't travel far enough to set the shutter. One pic shows at rest, the next one is how far it travel via the lever and last is how far it needs to go.

I had a similar problem recently with a Contessamat. In that case the winding lever eventually swung a quadrant-shaped piece which was the rack of a rack and pinion, the pinion being the back end of the cokking shaft of the shutter. The rack was a tooth adrift so the shaft didn't quite turn far enough. To have the cokking mechanism down there, there must be a few linkages.

Runs through the camera down to the base. Mech was out of sync and is now sorted. Trying to get the lens back on, I marked it before taking it off but not the point it left the helicoil. Now trying to find the spot to get focus and full range of movement. And for the love of anything sacred, please don't leave batteries in a camera for too long!

I find vinegar is good for removing battery acid contamination.
