Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
It's due to the flat edge of the planet. It blocks out the sun in the morning still until Earth rotates around further.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
This belongs in this and the gripe of the day thread.
My son passed his driving test on Monday. You may recall I’ve mentioned him in the other thread, regarding his exploites with his Chinese piece of crap 125. We also bought him a little Mazda 2 last year, for when he eventually passed his test. Nice little car, top of the range sport model (2010 model bought cheap from my next door neighbour) Got a phone call last night at 11:30pm. He had smacked a curb and buggered his wheel. Went to go have a look/pick him up, and the nsf wheel had much positive camber and was against the rear of the wheel arch. He was wrong in his diagnosis of a buggered wheel. That was scuffed but ok, and the tyre was fine too. It was however undrivable. I have a good relationship with my regular garage, as I was lumbered with managing my sons footie team that he sponsored and his son played in the team. A phone call at 8am this morning and we arranged for the car to be picked up by him and taken to his garage. Front wishbone and drop link stuffed. All ripe for the gripe thread. The smile came when not 4 hrs later he rang and said does your lad want his car back for Christmas or let him chill out and pick it up on Wednesday. I told him not to bust a bo!!ock trying to get it done and he replied with it’s done you can come and get it. Cracking service. Hopefully the boy has learnt his lesson (or will when he pays his bill!) Merry chriatmas

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
Lovely belated Christmas day here with my girls. They came over this morning and we've spent the day eating, chatting, playing tunes on accordeon, flute and fiddle, and lubricating the day with a couple of beers and a few glasses of good red wine.

I think the Chinese translators just gave up or had too much CCP sherry beforehand:

Some of the real things we sell in our bike shop don't sound far off. People always question what the "brake noodles" are that they have listed on their worksheets.
