Right just been out to Durham with camera, got a few good to me shots :0)

HDR = several shots put together using computer skills.

1) I thought the rules were one photo per entry? not 20 layered on top of each other.
2) No photoshopping allowed or it turns into a photoshop competition and not a photography competition.

Me? A Humbug?

The rules of the photocomp are quite clear:

"5) Photos must be genuine, If you Photoshop your entry tell us what you did (IE Crop / adjusted brightens etc)."

You can process it to hell and back if you want, but people may well choose to vote for another entry they feel is more "authentic" if that's what they want.

I hate Instagram. Just seems like lots of silly special effects to make an average photo look more interesting and makes people lazy.

I do use Photoshop to a minimum. Cropping, a bit of curves and today I 'healing brushed' a portrait of a colleague as she had to have the photo taken today but has had a few heavy nights so the eye bags were removed. Very subtle stuff.

I doubt that many people will vote for mine, but it's about the best religious picture I have. I just like to enter every month

If done with care they can look awesome as you get detail you would normally lose. I used AutoHDR to make these.

Agreed, as impressive as some of these photos are, supposed to be one pic.

Seems we've gone from who can take the best picture to who can make the best picture.

If everyone is in agreement we could use standard photo competition rules re editing. I will cut and paste them here later for opinions.
