I'd love to try the Vat 69 as well. Just like you, saw it on Band of Brothers and always fancied a taste. Might have to get the credit card out...

I tried the JD Honey last year at a bar, interesting stuff. Incidentally saw it about to be added to the sainburys offers tonight. Not sure if other supermarkets aren't cheaper (check mysupermarket.com I guess) but might be worth a look.

The Org Bar, Pull up a chair and share. What're you drinking?
Yay! Welcome to the discerning drinkers society
I've not tried many blended whiskys yet. I'm on single malts primarily but I started by trying loads of spirits, gin, Cointreau, cognac (I rather like those too!) vodkas and a couple of types of absinthe. All interesting but I'm no fan of vodka anymore, not now I've found a world of flavours out there Enjoy Kenzie

Don't know the differences between different types. Got a glass of vat 69 and coke at the moment. It's smooth, not too much of a kick with a nice warming feel to it.

I will get some of this next time I head over there!
I'll never buy the overproofed variety again though, you're left not knowing what happened the night before!

Re: The Org Bar, Pull up a chair and share. What're you drinking?
I got this for my birthday and cracked it open as all my other whiskies are still in storage after moving house...
This is a lovely expression of Dalwhinnie, one of my favourites when I'm in the mood for a sweet whisky. The nose is fruit cake and walnuts, with a hint of vanilla. The feel in the mouth is full and oily, coating the tongue and mouth. The taste has fruit cake, vanilla and honey tones with a subtle hint of peat and smoke. The finish is warming with the vanilla and honey intensifying. Bloody lovely and an ideal Christmas dram. |

Dalwhinnie is the main malt in the Johnny Walker range of whiskies. The highest distillery in Scotland.
