This is why sometimes having dedicated markers as at the AR works better...

Is that something you could run with ? Its total overkill you dont need to do it, but if there are people in the group that dont follow the drop off if you can muster enough dedicated markers together then nobody will get lost ?

It doesnt work though if you have a lot of junctions etc on your rideout and a big pack of riders to get through.

Just a thought...

Maybe, depends how many wish to participate.

There is intrinsically nothing wrong with no 2 rider marking as long as no 2 does what s/he is supposed to do. If you don't want to mark then don't be no 2. But somebody has to, else the whole thing falls apart.

Other rideouts don't seem to have this problem...

I think maybe a pre-ride brief involving everyone would be helpful. Especially newbs like myself. This way everyone is clear about general rules and duties and there cant be any excuses. Looking forward to this.

Ed did a fine job last time, everything was clearly worked out & he gathered us into a group & let us know exactly what was happening.

I'll do it again 'n' all As yet we don't have a TEC - as I know the route, I could do it. Depends if Daryl (or John if he's coming) wants to lead, or if we can arrange leaders for the different sections.

Just a thought for those coming from a Birmingham direction. We are almost certainly going to do the loop anti-clockwise which means that we won't be at Quatt for 11. Instead we'll be going down the A488 first and the first stop will be at the Cross Gates. Have a look at the map from last time:

The Cross Gates is a bit further than I'd normally like for one section, there isn't really anywhere else on the way that's easy to get into with enough parking for so many bikes, so please will everyone make sure that one tank is empty and the other one is full. Both facilities at the Services!!

Remember, out the Services to the A5 roundabout, turn left, one junction (it's about 2 miles) and turn left onto the A488.

I don't mind leading one section, prob the first as it's one i know well, and then being TEC for the rest, but i'll fit in anywhere on the day. Just looking forward to the day and meeting everyone again. It was bev who suggested doing the route in reverse as the original way round was leaving the twistyest section until the end of the day when everyone was a tad tired. Ed seemed to agree so thats the way it is being done. Still be a great day so prepare yourselves..
