Re: GM3 Idle banter and random drivel thread
I don't have accident recovery, but can phone my breakdown company and pay £150 quid odd for them to come and get me, so if I have an accident that takes me off the road, I'll get my credit card out! Can always claim that expense on the comprehensive insurance if I need to.
When RavingDavis had his accident the police arranged for recovery and very kindly stayed with the bike until the truck arrived, whilst we continued our rideout. He would either then have had to pay it, or if comprehensive and making a claim, got his insurance to cover it. Last edited by -Ralph-; 12-02-10 at 06:31 PM. |

Cable ties, pliars, and one collapsible Yorkiechris. Oh and learn what the tools do, because if you've got a tool you can't use in your bag you are 100% guaranteed to need it

Re: GM3 Idle banter and random drivel thread
Just re bumping the 'drivel thread.'
I assume it'll be ok for me to be a late confirmation and just turn up for camping or will that cause a problem by not committing/booking now?

Re: GM3 Idle banter and random drivel thread
I have spent a few hours no catching up on all the GmIII stuff. looking forward to it now. Think its gonning be camping for us this time. Last year was my first big meet/ride-out and i have to say it was the highlight of my year!! it looks like this years planning is equally as good if not better!!!
Being inexperienced i didn't have breakdown last year and to be honest it was only when Dave Preston snapped his chain that i thought about it!! In the end i think there was at least 3 who ended up being recovered last year. I do however have it this year. Tools wise... i will take the basic stuff i had last year: Bike toolkit Extra alan keys Small selection of spanners. Small amount of my socket set. Two screwdrivers Sparky tape pliers snips wd40 ( comes in handy) what is coming this year that didnt last: Wire Connectors M+F cable ties Some form of epoxy Fixer peg Leaver's Spare black plastic nozzle for the scotty as i keep loosing mine. Hopefully Yc's mobile number on a piece of paper lol: AND MY BREAKDOWN/RECOVERY STUFF!!!! Kellyjo..... i wouldnt be concerned about getting up there. I am sure you will be able to tag on with one of the groups heading up. I had only been riding 9 months when i went to last years and actually planned a route and decided to lead a group most of the way up there with not a single issue and we had some heavy traffic in the roadworks east of Glasgow. I think i will be tempted to do the same this year... using a good amount of the same route. Anyone coming from Warrington other than me?? Dave |

Re: GM3 Idle banter and random drivel thread
I'll be happy to offer my services as a guide from SW Scotland upwards to anyone that may be passing. There's a few options to avoid the motorway, of which I will certainly be taking one of!
