It's a muddy puddle. If you want a quarry go to capers instead, IMO.
Would recommend a trip to loch fyne, I am sure boatman would be able to sort kit lending and a shallow and scenic dive which will be a hell of a lot more enjoyable.

The blue lagoon was lovely and clear when I went.

I was there in winter, maybe rain and wind had stirred it up.

Ah rait, there's loads of quarries round our end, wouldnt fancy diving in any of em mind, too many birnt out cars etc.
The few times i have done it i always end up wih a very dry mouth, is that down to mixture or is it common? |

This is due to the dry air put in the cylinder to stop it from rusting inside, I always suck like I'm sucking on a straw when my mouth is dry, this way I suck in the moisture left on my reg.

Yeah it's common to get cotton mouth. I remember it being vividly unpleasant the first dive I did (on holiday) but not too much of a problem since.
You can always take reg out and have a bit of a swill round... probably not a good idea in quarries near ponte though ![]()

I never really noticed or bothered by dry mouth, but the snorkel when learning wasnt pleasant. Not keen on the taste of rubber from it.

Haven't posted for a while, but saw this thread.
I dive fair regularly (except now, because it's winter in NZ!). Am finally going to crack and buy a dry suit as right now the water is about 8 degrees which kills me! Also do a lot of hunting/gathering here in NZ - fresh scallops and crayfish which is awesome and a completely different kind of diving. Have master scuba diver cert + EAN
