Re: Win10
Bibio, I was using my compute with Wn 8.1 installed and Win 10 started updating and there is no way to cancel it! An Intel app doesn't work with Win 10 but other than that it's fine but I was working and it just cut me off. Not happy either!

Re: Win10
I have 15 work computers that kept reinstalling the 'get windows 10' update no matter how many times I uninstalled it and hid the update. I caught 2 downloading the update dispite my best efforts and had to resort to deleting the GWX folders from all of my computers. Why is microsoft forcing this on my business when I know I will run into compatability issues.

Re: Win10
Any more comments on Windows 10?
I've been happily running XP for 8 years now but support is all gone and even Chrome wouldn't work properly anymore. I've just upgraded to Win 7, which I don't particularly like, and am wondering whether to move on to 10 while it's still free. I guess it's the future, or the future Microsoft have decided we will have, and support for 7 won't last forever... So, stick with 7 or change to 10? |

Re: Win10
I would say that if you a home user with just standard applications, then go for it. I have had no compatibility problems at all except some old games won't play because my computer is 64 bit and the games were written for 32 bit machines. That may not be anything to do with Win 10 though. I think Win 10 is just an improved Win 7.

Re: Win10
Its pretty much a reskinned Win7. If you are going to upgrade then do it quick as I think the free upgrade ends soon. I have turned off a load of setting that really don't need to be on and tweaked a couple of things but pretty much same old MS.

Re: Win10
It's much better than it was just a few months ago. Far more stable. I run Office 365 and that works better now than it did.
I have no problems with it anymore and would say take the free offer while it's still there. |

Re: Win10
Just did a clean install onto a SSD, seems to be fine & daughter likes it.
You can download the Win10 ISO for free (so long as you have a valid windows reg key) and burn it to disc. Whether it will install for free after the deadline using a disc burn with the free ISO I don't know
