Sorry folks I didn't put in here that I'm going on the afternoon ride there now. All of these AR threads are starting to confuse me.

+1 it would be good if a mod could retitle Spidey's "look here" thread as the "Afternoon" thread just so I can ignore all his ramblings

Welcome to the calm, straightforward and organised (well, until we set-off, that is) "Soho Massive Late Run".

There will be:

Me
Raf
Addicted (Stu)
mr.anderson (Peter)
Josh (joshmac)

Teriyakimonkey has taken leave of his senses and decided to join the throng of people in the afternoon who don't know what they're doing or who they're following.

I'm about to send a PM with all of our phone numbers on it. May I suggest that we all:

1) Make sure that we each have our own map / list of directions to the site because...

2) Those who are ready to depart at 7:30pm may want to just get on with it and not wait for any latecomers. I think it's fair enough for people not to wait (or wait for long) as we are doing a very 'functional' evening ride, rather than an extended daytime bimble - and we'll be missing out on valuable beer / wine / pina colada drinking time if we dither around like a bunch of Dolly Daydreams.

Now, I'm really not one for faffing, but 'latecomers' could of course include me; but I really won't be expecting anyone to wait if my day goes pear-shaped and I can't get to Fleet Services on time (I'll be cutting it fine as it is).

2)a) Text a couple of others in the group if you know that you're not going to get to Fleet Services anywhere near on time, so that people don't wait around needlessly (if they wait at all).

3) Park-up as near to the services building as possible so that we can easily find each other.

4) Stop in at Fleet Services even if we're running late, just in case those already there have decided to wait a bit longer.

5) Ride at a decent pace (ie 85 - 90mph on the motorway parts) but not give it spuds / berries / whatever and expect everyone else to want to keep up.

6) Agree on the next fuel / toilet etc stop before we depart from the previous one. I suspect Raf may be in charge of how often these are . (On account of his thirsty bike, not his weak bladder, you understand...)

What does you all reckon?

That's great Cazza i agree with everything
So are we agreed on this route?
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=e...4,1.691895&z=9
M3 to Jnct 8,
7.8 miles on the A303,
64 miles on the A30
2.7 miles on the A37 Job done

It's 91 miles in total, so can everyone do that on one tank??? (I thought Raf had contained his bike's thirst)
There's lots of petrol stations including a cheap Tesco in Yeovil to fill up when we get there ready for the next day.

Sounds good to me
Would hope to get there on one tank, although I've never ridden constantly for a long distance at 85, so I can't really judge it
