aparantly, yes

they ban you for 3 days, as well, so you either have to leave your bike where it is, or get someone else to ride it.

also helps when you know the locals and they know where the gendarmes hide.

Seriously though, you get clobbered if you get caught being really stupid. Like Hovis said, they'll have you pay there and then or take your keys and make ya walk. But they are more practical with their limits aren't they

Irresponsible? Stupid? Arrogant? Or just giving his son a taste of the fast and furious...bike being fast, the plod furious...

Eejit in my mind
He's only an Eejit because he got caught!

I ride with our young one on the back all the time. He's now 15 but he's been out with me since he was 13. And whilst I'm not going to admit on a public forum to doing 122mph, We do somethimes ride "Spiritedly". He's never once asked me to slow down (we have a tap signal system)

There's no difference between having a 14 year old on the back to having a 40 year old on the back.

Assuming the 14 year old is making his own choices then I'd agree. The thing about being under 16, though, is that sometimes you "have to" do things your parents ask you to, and as a result the parents are responsible to a much larger degree than you are if you ask your 40 year old mate if he fancies a ride on the back one evening.

Most 14 year olds are smart enough, but if it was a 5 year old you'd raise an eyebrow wouldn't you? 6 year old, 7 year old? Where would you draw the line and say the kid is the one that makes his decision and that's the end of the matter, especially considering not all kids are the same.

Out of curiosity, how many fingers do you have on each hand, and are they webbed?

theres a time and a place, the guy knew the road well, knew his bike well. I do believe he wouldn't have done that unless he was absolutely sure he was being safe.

remember our news is sensationalism in this country so he'll probably get the book thrown at him !
