I'm surprised no-one's come into this thread saying

"Men stronger? You try giving birth!"

Jenny was also racing in one of the BSB support classes at Thruxton weekend just gone..
She is one of the quick club racers I was on about.Seen her win races against the blokes and she is certainly not a Russian weightlifter either.

pit girls to me as a viewer, I dont mind, some are really pritty and i like to think they have an interest in bikes (regardless of the truth!). If i was a racer, I would want one of my male mechanics holding my umbrella, the girl would just be a destraction from my race prep!

women in sport, all about strenght/endurace etc, not mental speed, so they cant compete with top level males. I once had the most crazy debate with a girl who claimed that women rugby players could play equally aganst men. come on, lets not be silly.

Presonally, I would love to see women in male dominated sport, just because the banter would be so good. but unfortunatly, they just arnt up to it. take Kelly Smith, played for Arsenal Ladies and England Womans, she is the best english lady by a country mile, but still wouldnt be good enough to play in the confrence IMO, not because she isnt skilled enough, but her lack of basic speed and strengh that are needed at any decent level, just arnt there.

This kind of reminds me of the debate in the life of brian where the guy wanted to fight the romans for his right have a baby, even though he physically couldnt.

I would love to see woman on top

Keep on dreaming Pencil boy!

If you look at the number of bikers in in the UK and then see how many race club level - maybe 5%? Then of that 5% maybe 1-2% go on to national level. Then only a small % of that 1-2% will go on to world level. Got to be a handful of people, tops. If you run the number of female bikers through the same process, then just on numbers, you have probably run out of female riders around the National racing stage, let alone world level. It has nothing to do with physical nature of men/women - there just is a far bigger % of guys getting on a bike in the first place.

Be interesting to see male/female % of .org members as I would bet it is probably about 90/10%.

the giving birth thing is weird and ive never understood why its used as an argument to empower women. women have the tolerance for giving birth, becasue they need to, otherwise there would be serious reprodutive issues. I cant imagine they have any more or less tolerance than men for normal pain, but with less testosterone you can see why men are more agressive and keen to engage in conbat (in a sporting sence)

but still, if a woman can cut it, i say let them play. I would love to see a womans team in the prem league or individual players in a mens team.

A quick scan down last night's practise times shows Jenny lapped at 109.7mph last night on her Supersport machine. Fingers crossed she can qualify; only needs to find another 0.3mph.
