I no wants you to go!! I tend to think that you should apply for the bike job, then see how things get on and then if you don't like it then you can apply to mover to Oz...

Id apply for the job in Auz, if it is something you have always wanted to do then go for it...otherwise you might regret it. Without sounding too harsh, you might not even get the job in Australia? If you were to move there how long would it actually take you to sort yourself out and get over there? If its a fair while then do the bike job in the meantime

I don't know anyone that's moved to Oz and stayed there. They usually always come back.

I do. And I wish I could have gone with them. Melbourne looks really nice.

And nope they haven't come back, and have made it very clear that they aren't going to.

Yeah and about 39degrees FAHRENHEIT here.

Shell how many years you got in?

Couple of considerations....
1 - You stay in UK, apply for the job and get it. Nothing changes in life except when you go to work, you ride around asking Lorry drivers to see their tacho's and do the occasional escort for Stoke City FC.
2 - You stay in UK, apply for the job and fail on the ride/drive. You're in the same place you were, is the other option still open?
3 - You go to Oz after getting the job, you love it and everything in life changes.
4 - You go to Oz after getting the job, you hate it and come back to the UK. Reapply to get back in and then you're on the new pension (extra 5 years) and you're on the regular shift again
5 - You apply for Oz and hold off on the bike job. You dont get the job in Oz and you have to wait another 5 years for the bike job to come round again

Choose your own adventure....

I go. I was in the same situation a few years ago and went! Haven't really looked back. Being far away from family sucks at times, though they have been visiting in the past two months and eventually drove me nuts! Quite glad I am so far away at the moment

Moved from Oz to NZ a year ago - mainly due to work, but I definitely prefer NZ. I miss the warm weather and beaches, but not much else.

Never been to WA, but I have a trip booked in June to dive with Whale Sharks in Northern WA. Can't wait.

I am gonna go to speak with bike sgt on my rest days ... talk it through.

I been pretty low due to stuff going on in my life at the mo, tonight I left work and 2 people rang me on my way home to find out what was wrong with me and one guy collared me on the way out the gates.

I didn't realise how withdrawn I have become over the past few weeks but everyone else has. Said I am no longer bubbly and mad, just very quiet.

I really think it is time for a big big change and Oz maybe it. But as people have said I may not get any of the jobs, just need a new focus away from the hassle I have in my head.

Thank you all for your advice ..... I think I am gonna sit down with all sgts concerned. I am prepared to give my rest days up to try and do some work with bikes and see if I can manage a big bike and I am gonna see if I can get some annual leave and some money saved up to go on a short break.

I probably wont get either job ha ha ha then I will have to put up with sunny Staffordshire and the chavs ..... not so bad after all I suppose

Nic I would still hassle you wherever I was and whatever I do hun, you and Jen have become good mates who I value oooodles xxxxxxxxxxx
