well so far I am trying to keep my costs down, which keeps final cost down. but want to keep material quality high as possible, so ideally want to use metal spacer, so far looking i'm getting better prices now.
it's getting the angles right, gonna take a bit of playing about. ps I have a lathe, I think you mean a Pillar Drill / Drill Press. just wish I didn't have to wait for delivery or come to work so I could spend time on this.... |

the infill bracket takes no stress it's only there to stop the cowl hook from coming upwards. if it were a grab rail then things would be different. 0.9mm stainless will do just fine for material and well nuts for the infill's. the use of delrin for the spacers will be just fine hell you could even use acrylic. cut the spacers up before you drill them.
or make life more simple and cut a grab rail down shape it then take a mould and cast the whole lot in resin. once dry then you will just need to take a check out for the cowl. if you use gel then you wont even need to prime the thing. Last edited by Bibio; 23-08-13 at 02:22 PM. |

spacers abs or something going to see what people want... looks like I might be able to get the cost down (for org'ers only) if I can get at least 10 people to sign up, I can get the price down to £33 delivered, that is the bracket, infill, 4 x screws, spacer and delivery... if there is more interest price will lower a bit... let's see if we can get 10 first. after this the price is going to go up to £40 + P&P. I have updated the form on the homepage, as soon as 10 people sign up you will receive further instructions. Last edited by nikon70; 23-08-13 at 02:43 PM. |

Jeez, those infills are expensive.
When I had my black SV I bought a genuine accessory seat cowl complete with the infills for something like £40 from my Suzuki dealer. That was the list price of them at the time. |
