Your happy with those gaps at the sides near rear brake light

And if you only drilled two holes near the brakelight how on earth do you keep it in place with regards to the side panels? It must move or be very insecure - I wouldn't store anything under the seat.

Bloody hell, I've been away too long! To be fair, I got a call from Jo to ask how I got on with the fitting, not bad customer service.
If I'd gotten around to fitting it I might have been able to help! 7th wedding of the year and a client website by Monday means that it'l be a week or two yet.
One thing I have learned from reading forums is that something like a dremel is essential.
Anyone know where to get a cheap but quality one?
I'll let you know if I screw it up! :P

i have an undertray that is non suzuzki and all i can say is Andrew if your mechanical knowledge and fitting skills resort to zip clips you need to go back to school

yeah maybe there are no fitting instructions yeah but if thats all you can improvise give the girl a break and leave your bike standard

never heard of speedclips and self tappers ???

i can store stuff under my seat no problems and im not scared i`ll lose a thing

let it go you moaned to late after anything has been attempted to be fitted and you messed up you invalidated the return of defective goods act

you have it fitted in a fashion = it is for the bike the fact you drilled it = return invalid

sorry you lose

Here are my comments:

- When a manufacturar sell a product, it should fit the bike in question as good as possible (no matter what the price is). A 100% fit should not be expected, but the product should be reasonable good.

- A manufacturar should note in their advertising how much work and how difficult the fitting is, including what kind of tools that is needed and what you have to do to the product to make it fit.

- A person who is unexperienced with handywork (this is in general, no offense), should be careful when buing items like this (there is also a security aspect). Even though a product seems impossible to fit, it stil may fit if the person do it right (personal experience).

I have just talked to a guy who tried to change his rear himself to save money, but it ended with a destroyed tyre. He didn't safe as much as he thought

Barty_boy. The undertray does fit if you look at it that sense, only it fits very badly, with gaps at either side which can not be corrected with any handywork.

It's the nature of the undertrays design. There are no fixing brackets unlike all other undertrays I've seen. I improvised with zip tags like I've seen others do. You may have other methods.

The grab rail cut outs are too far forward. This can be corrected with a dremel / junior hacksaw. But you shouldn't have to.

All i ask is ...
a) the undertray fits the SV CORRECTLY without modification.
b) the undertray secures to the SV without improvisation.

I wouldn't buy a bucket with a hole in it in knowledge I could fix it with some sticky tape.

A.

Sorry not being funny, but if the company have fitted these undertrays before, surely if we can take digital photos and write a few words on HOW TO!!! fit the tray, why is it companies can't be bothered.
What is it? how much money is it to add a few lines of text and a couple of printed photos, on how the thing should fit.
If they have a web site, how about a little section on how to fit our undertray, this way they can save on the cost of the paper.

This is the same for a whole load of the companies, Renegade don't do any instructions for fitting the air kit, Why not? Is it just to much hard work?
Going back to the undertray, if there was some way of seeing fitting instructions, then none of this would have happened.
So what if the guy cocked up the fitment or not, with instuctions you have no excuse do you! The company should just look at this aspect. A little bit of care (Adding some instructions) taken, could have saved a lot of this grief.

By the way my £145 Roca undertray didn't come with instructions either, but I did my own and they are on the internet.

But when you buy Suzuki lowers, guess what Instructions Hooray!

Your undertray's a different kettle of fish, i'm going to get one in a couple weeks time. And I wish people would stop saying i've cocked up the fitting BECAUSE I HAVN'T

The damn thing is mis-shaped end of story.

"my undertrays better than yours"

"no mine is better than yours"

"mine fits better"

"no mine fits better"

"you cant fit yours"

"yes i can"

"your a poohead"

"well your a pooface"

Calm down kids-its not the end of the world..........

Steps to fitting an undertray:

1) Follow instructions if there are any, if not phone company and swear at them for days on end.

2) Only attempt if you can accept you may balls it up/be clever with the fitting.

3) If you cant do it, pay for something which wont require messing about or pay for someone to fit it.

4) If you are going to attempt it, go for it. Rip all the bodywork off your bike as quickly as possible. Attempt to fit the undertray in an enraged state. Hurl swearwords at the 'kin thing when you find it doesnt fit straightforward because it/your bike is slightly malformed.

5) Have a nervous breakdown and get a lumphammer. Smash the undertray and your bike to pieces then sit in a corner withering and dying.
