As I said on the thread itself Northwind, the usual suspects.

I also did a bit of reading back on some of the threads involving GYKD (as I had no idea what or who GYKD was when refferred to in recent posts). Funnily enough, seems to be the same aggravators stuck in there too.... seems that there are some collectives on the forum that don't like their opinion to be challenged.

GYKD was a consistent forum rule breaker. He was given a multitude of chances to alter his behaviour, He didnt or wouldnt change his behaviour so it was acecptable to the forum admin team so he got banned.

Alot of the threads he did this in got edited or deleted so they dont exist anymore to refer to.

Interesting, thanks Fizz.

But it did seem to be the usual group aggravators that were getting stuck into him...... what would your opinion be of a group like this if, for example, GYKD had not broken any forum rules?

Side note: GYKD was an utter, utter prat sometimes. I doubt anyone would deny he brought it on himself. My beef with his situation was that the people who helped make it as bad as it was were also breaking forum rules, and never seemed to accept any responsibility for the damage they were doing to the forum. I think most of the GYKD Usual Suspects would be shocked at the idea that they were acusing problems themselves, after all it was all his fault. Must have been, he got banned.

Well, there does seem to be a group of forum users that are always involved in confrontation; i'm sure you don't need me to mention them by name.

They were there in the case of GYKD - you kindly informed me that GYKD was a regular at breaking the forums rules, which I suppose in some way, excuses the behaviour of the said group involved.

I'm not getting at anything; apart from the question I asked originally - what would be your opinion of such a group of confrontational users if they were picking on, for example, a user that had broken no forum rules?

He's attempting to undermind all the forum members who've disagreed with him by trying to play the victim.

Although I think his avatar probably hasnt helped. Speaking of which, and bearing in mind Steve and I arent exactly best mates, I think the use of that avatar is out of order.

I suspect you're right northwind... some people just have their head too far up there own jacksy (or someone elses) to notice these things.

It depends on the circumstances and the particular issue involved. Some situations require stronger or more forceful moderation than others.

I dont want to prejudice my future actions by posting a specific reponse to your question.

However I will say that normally theres no smoke without fire, most people on here are level headed and wont start "picking on"* a forum member unless they feel that forum member is out of order or that they feel like that forum member has broken forum rules.

*your words not mine

Thanks for the reply Fizz.

But in my case, people simply started picking on me becasue they either didn't like the subject material or didn't like my standing on the subject, but were unable to argue their own point.

Seriously, if anyone can find any post I have made that breaks forum rules, or anywhere that I attack anybody else without first being attacked, then I would be very happy to see these.
