SV's great and all being my first 'proper' bike. But it does leave me wanting more when it comes to power. And the suspension under hard acceleration/braking/cornering/anything hard is pretty awful.
I love the grunt of the twin, but I've always loved the scream of an inline four, so the next bike will probably be a 636 or CBRrr in two years time. |

Went from an Il4 to a twin (my 1st sv)...fell in love with the vtwin. Then because I like to buy and sell, I went to an Il4 again...urgh....kawasaki zx6r J1. Utterly boring bike. So back to a vtwin and got myself a firestorm. Great fun but probably not as fun as the sv in cornering stakes. So, sold that and got an il4 again (yzf750r) Bit too fast for my liking and a lot of effort was required in making it corner well. Sold that and got myself another sv. Great fun but had to sell due to finances. Sold it to Quedos on this forum and got myself a cheap Il4 (xj600s). Cheap to run and fantastic on the daily commute, great il4 if all you want is a commuter. But selling that now as I want another sv.
So will I have another vtwin after the next sv I'll buy? Damn straight. ![]() ![]() |

There are of course some IL4s which rev low and have loads of torque i.e CB 1300 which is why I think generalisations based just on engine types are not necessarily the defining factor. Personally miss some of the fun of the SV but like the smoothness of the CB. Of course, as one or two have said having more than one bike is probably the answer...
I think my next bike will a V twin with shaft derive and some style so thinking of a Griso... |

I'm thinking about putting a 600cc single in a rgv250 rolling chassis. You mean some people buy bikes new? Freaks.
