obviously you were mistaken

maybe we should start a "dodgy shoulder gang" to run along side the wonky knee gang?

I'll be a member as my shoulder was just left to heal itself after a partially dislocated it and now has a sticky out bit

I can't believe they've left it like that

I can count myself lucky that the hospital I went to did line my break up. Bit painful at the time but what the heck I'm a man and could take it
Didn't get a sling.
They did miss the ankle break though. Mind you so did I.
It was only when I got home and took my boot & sock off that I realised that something wasn't quite right. Sorted when I went back the next morning.
That break still gives me a bit of grief to this day, seven years on.

Not only did I ask about getting pinned at the time, but when they said no, I asked them to pull me straight again, but they refused ... Perhaps my hospital are just lazy?!!?

Or perhaps they didn't want a fugly in their hospital any longer than they had too as I was scaring the other patients?!?!

Hope the healings going well Blue...

I did my left collar bone when I was ten - I think cos I was bendier then its healed without much of a bump, then I did my right one when I was 18 which hurt like hell and NEARLY came through the skin, but not quite. Just sat around for a few weeks with a sling. Is fine now, never stopped me doing any of the sports I do, just have a bump to prove it!

Oh yeah, and they generally never surgically fix collar bones unless the skin is compromised (or open) or unless the nearby arteries are damaged. Lots of problems with plated ones so ain't always the best option... Similar with little hand bones too!! Sorry - you seem to have picked the 'we don't operate on these' bones to break!!

Hey - not a bad time of the year to be not doing much anyway huh??

When mine got done the doc said lump would go down and it has. Mind you it was fairly well lined. I asked the physio if there was any chance that I wouldn't be aligned right but she said that after the bone had healed, most of posture imbalance was due muscle atrophy. The ont scars left now are mental...

To be honest it was supposed to stay in a sling for 6 weeks ... not sure it has been in the sling for a total of 6hours let alone weeks!!! ... Been mending me minimoto and car for the past week ... oh and been down the gym (only cycling and one arm swimming ) ... I really am not doing as the doc ordered!! But what do they know?!!? I am basically doing as much as I can whilst keeping the pain/discomfort as my guide.

He was most impressed that I had full movement in my shoulder!!! ... I didn't tell him that was coz it has never really been in the sling so I have kept it moving!!

I did my other one a few years back, same deal, overlapped and lumpy!!! ....

Good for you. I'm glad it hasn't slowed you dwn too much. Me, I had never broken a bone before so I took REAL easy. My muscles were totally gone after two weeks. Looked like someone had sucked half of my body dry!

Anyway, glad to hear you are on the mend!

I was pretty good for the first week, I kinda sat about taking it easy (well apart from driving 100 miles home straight after the accident and then driving to the hospital ) ... but built it up from there really ... coz I could and I wanted to ...

It just uncomfortable and an inconvenience. The little bone in my hand bit means that I cant really grip things, which is annoying, but you just work round it ...

As for these sort of injuries, these things only hurt if you are a b1tch .... you will know when I am proper hurt
