Re: Vintage film cameras
Kenzie, the Super A doesn't have a case by any chance does it? Mine is delaminating badly.

Re: Vintage film cameras
No, unfortunately not. Only case I have is for an MV and it's coming apart like yours. I did pick up an Olympus OM10 with 50mm f1.8 for £4.50 from the re-use shop this afternoon. Couldn't day no! Shutter is a little bit iffy as it sometimes releases while winding. Lens is ok, had to strip the mount off and clean a load of oil off of the aperture mechanism. Tbh the lens will probably end up on my hybrid OM1. I was testing out the Pentax MG with the Centon 50mm and annoyingly after a few shots realised it won't focus to infinity. Looks like it's heading for the spares tub.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Annoyingly, I missed out on the SRT. After telling me it was available, I drove over to pick it up only to find out it had sold. Seller had also advertised it online as well. A bit hacked off as I wasted half a day and on top of that, had to breathe the air in Redcar.
I've binned 2 Pentax cases because the coverings were sticky and had bits coming off. It must be the way they make them. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
I did but what can you do?? If it's gone, it's gone.
More annoyed about the time wasted chasing it than the camera itself. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Ah well, another will come along. It is frustrating when you get messed around. Odd thing about the re-use shop was that they had a Practika BX up for £22 but only had £4.50 on the OM. Also got a Zenit B body for £4 too. They actually had a massive bucket of cameras and these two were the cream of the lot. There was a Zenit E in there as well but the shutter was broken.

Re: Vintage film cameras
It's good that you've got the reuse shop; nothing like that up here. £4.50 is pretty good for an OM10 with the lens. Strange the way it's priced compared to the Praktica.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Shutter still isn't right on the OM10 so the lens is heading for the OM1. The first OM1 I bought seems to be only firing on one speed, not sure what's happening there. Need a lens for the XG-E and the X500 at some point.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Been a productive day with film today, finished off the roll in the Kiev 88, the Kiev 4 and the Perkeo. Got them wrapped up ready to be posted off to the developers. Normally I would do the black and white myself but my chemicals have been stored in the car port and I think they will need replacing. Need to unload the OM1 and check out the shutter. I did see a Trip 35 silver button at a flea market, but they wanted £25 for it. Polite pass.

Re: Vintage film cameras
No film for me today but I did get out on the bike for the first time in 5 months.
I'm not sure I understand the pricing and demand for the Trip. Yes, it's a nice little camera but with the Ricoh 500g, Chinon 35EE or even Russian rangefinders costing similar money, surely it's no contest. |
