Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Doing a air bag recall waiting only to find out the parts didn't order the kit.

"Tinkered" might be an understatement, but, replaced the rear shock in my Thou' Saturday as the standard one failed and was bouncier than Tigger

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Fitted new tailpack (Biketek 'Urbano') to Gladys. Holds about 30 litres and fits securely on pillion seat. Has good waterproof cover and - just for Gladys - colour coordinated side panels! For about £30, good value, sturdy piece of kit. Also put on a Pyramid plastics extenda fenda to keep the crap from my radiator.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Treated the bike to a new cover. The old Oxford Rainx got torn thanks in part to the winds and also because the bottom (silver) half is a flimsy material.
Bought an Oxford Stormx and its a much better product. Same thick material all over yet still heat resistant. I wasn't planning on buying another Oxford cover but the reviews won me over.

The Spada bike covers aren't too bad either, had one for a year now and it's still waterproof and not melted on the exhaust yet, but still not all that cheap.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Yesterday I put a pair of those 130% brighter lamps on the SV.
I'm always sceptical, largely as the lamp manufacturers are known to fib more than VW. They're great. Much the same price as standards because they're on a BOGOF in Halfwits and I could see where I was going for once!! |

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Had a braking issue, cleaned the brakes and found a stone wedged under the spring plate - removed it and cleaned the brakes. They work better now.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Replaced the clutch lifter thingy and the side stand springs. All good, now to extensively test before it rains again
