Evening all, can I interest anyone in a Pentax MX body? I picked one up for a fiver to take a few bits off and it turns out its pretty much fully functional. I grabbed the motordrive cover, the winder contacts plastic bit and swapped over the shutter lock but its all there. Not too bad looks-wise but I really don't need three MXs! Would be happy to send it to one of you to play with.

No thanks, I've got a good one and a fixer-upper already! Flog it, you'll get plenty. Was eyeing up a Spotmatic F, not sure why but might bag a bargain.

Isn't the Spotmatic the model before the K1000? I've got an OM1, Sure shot A1 and an mju ii zoom listed at the moment and the only thing that's got a bid on is the mju.

I think so, it's M42. The F was the last one, and has open-aperture metering as opposed to stop-down metering. Made around the same time I was!

I'll pass on the Pentax MX too. I've a working one, and the K1000, and am running out of storage space.
I got an old Spotmatic too, I think one of the earlier models. It's much nicer to look at and hold than the K1000. One that I've wanted to test out for a while but never got round to.

Maybe I'll check them out at some point but I've got enough to be getting on with for the time being. Not had much chance to get out and shoot lately.

Yeah. The weather's been awful this past week. I think I picked the Spotmatic up by accident. It came with a couple of lenses I wanted.
Going to Chengdu again in a couple of weeks. What to take this time? Trying to resist M43 primes on ebay.

Which Spotmatic have you got yoko? Not shot much, put a film in the Box Tengor and took a couple, the viewfinders are a bit of a pig when the sun is shining on them! I struggled with camera shake at 1/25 with the Ensign 6x9 so am trying to be really careful with the Tengor as it's about 1/30th.

I think my Spotmatic is the original SP version Johnny. I just had another look, so much sleeker than the K1000 but it's stop down metering and noo split screen focussing. It's currently wearing a Pentacon 30mm f3.5
Kenzie, M43 wasn't a Typo, I meant micro 4/3 lenses. Toying with the idea of a little prime on the OMD instead of the 14-42 zoom, but what to get?
