Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Bike wouldn't sodding start this morning.... Grrr
Same deal as before, key, lights come on, primes, push button feck all happens. Looks like I'll be swearing at my switchgear again later. Got this horrible feeling my bike is dying bit by bit. Had to steal the car off my missus who's now stranded at home with 3 kids, only to take 3 times longer to get to work. JOY. |

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Martin, have a look at the starter relay. The points inside sometimes burn out, so the relay clicks when you press the starter button but it doesn't pass current to the starter motor. Carefully short across the terminals on the relay and make sure the starter motor spins. If it does and the relay clicks when you press the starter button then it's a dead relay. This is exactly what happened to mine while we were in Scotland a couple of weeks back. M&P/Busters have replacements for about 13 quid.

may be starter button contact or relay, or the startermotor itself see this thread, some links to refurbing the motor and a motor service kit.

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
the lunatics have taken over the asylum. we have had to get care workers in to do duties for my wife as im not capable or allowed due to my ill health.
i was informed that there are different care workers to do different tasks even though most care workers have been trained to do all the tasks. so you get 1 person to dispense drugs another to use "equipment" and another for personal stuff like getting dressed etc.etc. so for my wife to have a bath it requires a nurse trained in using a mechanical lift (bath chair) to lower my wife into the bath then another nurse to wash my wife then the other nurse has to work the chair again then the other nurse has to dry and dress. so thats two wages to do one job, or two people that could be dealing with different clients. now for the best part. none of the nurses are allowed to lift my wife's foot/leg on and off the stair lift. WTF is going on with society. |
