Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
That looks like a very complex solution to a non problem.

My parents were out with their friend some years ago and he was pulled by plod and given advice about the use of high intensity rears, despite his protests that he puts them on to be seen, he was told to turn them off and only use them in fog. Daft sod never realised plod was still behind him when he put them back on 1/2 a mile down the road...Not a happy plod that day!

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Ha. I was driving on an unlit country road in rural south Norfolk at 2am one night and decided to use my fog lights to illuminate the verge. Plod spotted me as I went through a village and pulled me to give me a bollocking. Me and the plod were the only vehicles on the road that night.

Train commuters tuncs
Ok I know you're doing the daily grind to the smoke, and paying a lot for their seat. but don't take out mine and my wife's reserved seat tickets so you can sit with your mates, who are sitting there as arrogant arses and think they own the carriage

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Mav, we had that on a trip to London. Three of us so we booked a table. The person sitting there was like "do you want me to move?" Damn right I do, they are our seats!

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Numpty in Shell petrol station who wanted me to get off my bike to fill up. The same Shell station that due to my work fuel card I have been to every couple of days for the last 3 plus years. I refused and just sat there. A couple of mins later he buzzed across the tannoy again that I needed to get off the bike. I'd had a **** day at work and it was sunny, plus the garage was busy. So I refused again.
He was starting to get flustered. Several mins later of me staring at him and he sent his colleague out. Sir you need to get off of the bike. Me. I have been using this garage every other day or so for the last 3 years. And have always sat on the bike, why do I now have to get off. I'd prefer to brim it and give you more money. He asked me again to get off. I refused. I'm starting to get annoyed now. The queue behind me was getting bigger. He caved in and told the guy inside to activate the pump. It was as I went inside to a nervous looking attendant, helmet still on, as I don't have to remove it. It's then that I really lose my **** as I get my wallet out and realise that I haven't put my fuel card back in after being on holiday. So have to pay for the fuel myself. The rage in my eyes by the time I got to the till resulted in him being ever so polite. A small win, even if it cost me. Lets see what happens next time. |

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
They're all the same. My GSX250 had the standard issue 80's electrics and it lunched it's reg/rec more than once. No way are the patrols going to have a spare or the nouse to fit it but no, they have to send a patrol first to verify it is indeed dead and unfixable at the roadside before they will send recovery... I was stuck in Teddington once for seven hours as the RAC only had one bike-trailer-equipped van covering the whole of south London that night. Hopeless.
