What have you tinkered with today?

Took the shock linkage out, cleaned and repacked the bearings, much better now!

Found a bit of a fuel leak, which may or may not now be OK. Could have been a dodgy connection at the petcock which I cut back and refitted. If not then hell knows.

Found a bit of oil in the airbox, which may or may not now be OK. Have a feeling the previous owner may have overfilled on oil. There wasn't a huge amount, and it was very clean. However, the breather pipes deffo have a wet look around the connectors to the airbox. Engine doesn't feel or sound like the rings or valves are in trouble…hmmm

You can get a bit of oil in the airbox through the breather tube. It has a sponge over the port to minimize it.

Maybe I need to clean the sponge and then keep an eye on things

Replaced my standard windscreen with a black double bubble, which for some reason proved to be way more fiddly than I anticipated.

I also received a Tutoro chain oiler but won't be able to fit that until the weekend, not with my skills

Fitted new spark plugs and cleaned the drain as it was running on one cylinder since the floods. Hopefully a fender extender next week.

Also replaced the crap 45w headlight bulbs with proper 60/55w bulbs.

Also found axel stands work well instead of a paddock stand and downpipes get very hot. ��

What bulbs did you use? I'm wanting to switch mine over for these dark days and wasn't sure what to go for.

I and a few others use these, really bright, nice crisp white light. A lot better than standard.

I've used them in the car. I used Halfords this time as I could pick them up same day. And their BOGOF offer made them almost the same price.
