I suspect it is better not to ask. Relevant quote from Mark Twain:

"Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience."

He thought it was a stock solution to a dirty windscreen, but it turned out to be a gravy error of judgement.

Today was one of those rare and lucky rides down a favourite stretch of road (the Via Gellia) when there were no lorries or dawdling farm vehicles in front of me, I was able to keep it wound on the whole way, bend swinging first with the great views over the Derbyshire Dales and then under the tree canopy as the road carves through the valley. Bliss.

I went through Hartington on the way, but have never stopped there for cheese!

Yes, I was lucky as usually the only time you can be sure of avoiding lorries on that route is early Sat / Sun morning.

And in winter it's not worth it as the road never dries out, and all the crap from the local quarry wagons means it's slick with mud that makes your bike look like it's been plastered with pebble-dash.

Went for a lovely walk around Mitchels Fold stone circle this afternoon with Lady Poppy. The scenery around there is just amazing and its so nice to be back in Shropshire again. Found three Geocaches while I was up there so even better, and to top it off our hotel for the night is really nice. Looking forward to a pint of something local now, Three Tuns XXX if i'm lucky.

You should have popped in here for a cup of tea Trevor. I'm only 30 minutes away from Priestweston.

Sorry Gary - we weren't sure what time we'd be setting off from home or how long we'd be up on the hills.

Other plus side I am just finishing my second pint of draught XXX. So nice!

My 13 year old Yaris passed its MOT, no advisories I only drove it 994 miles since the last MOT whereas I rode about 8k miles on my bikes. The Yaris has only done 39500 miles total but looks a little scratched up where I have been maneuvering my bikes past it (and where I reversed into a low post )*

* my excuse, which I'm sticking to, is that it wasn't visible looking out the rear window
