It's a chrome MX Johnny - and thanks for the tip off. I've got the Pentax 28mm f3.5, which is supposed to be better than the 2.8 so I might let it go but will keep the camera if I can get the meter working.

A happy ending. I took the battery cap out of the acid bath and cleaned it up again ... I got the coloured diodes and judging by the way they behave when the wind-on is flipped out, the little switch under the baseplate is working as it should..

Thats good news. Had a quick look on the bay and an MX with 50 1.7 and 28 2.8 sold for £88 plus post. So you definitely got a great deal.

FR IIs seem to be quite rare and those currently on ebay are around £50/
I don't know if you've seen this Kenzie but something to whet the appetite if you haven't.

Anyone interested in a vintage style, leather, hard camera case? Very similar to this in style but a chestnut colour with red interior and 2 layers. It does look very smart.

I've got one of those, the idea was to keep stuff in it but in reality it's full of things that I need to shift! They do go for a pretty penny.

Well I must admit Yoko, the XE is smaller than I was expecting.

Very quick. Chucked some batteries in the XE and it seems to be firing OK. Did it have a foam issue in the viewfinder? Wonder if it could be cleaned or replaced. Thanks again for sending it down.
