Re: Vintage film cameras
I'm not sure what that is in the viewfinder but if you raise your eye a bit, it doesn't get in the way. I thought about having a look but from what I read, disassembly - even taking the top off ain't easy. Even replacing the mirror bumper foam is near impossible.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Seen a stripped down XE on the bay for £12 with self timer lever. Will keep an eye on it.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Just trying to negotiate a sale with a guy clearing out some nice kit on ebay. There is a Zeiss Sonnar 135mm for Contax, and a couple of Pentax lenses including a Vivtar 24mm f2.0. With a bit of luck it'll go through and I'll get them for a bit under half price, both have gone for good money on ebay although I'd probably keep the Sonnar. Not much info about condition but they are the cost of ones needing fixing up so taking a chance.

Re: Vintage film cameras
I don't get it, what's wrong? I got the lenses, the seller knocked up a listing for me with them all in, as he was happy with the offer. Not entirely sure what's going to turn up, the original ads had the Sonnar, a Pentax zoom, the Vivitar, and a tele converter. The new ad has instead of the zoom and converter (neither of which I wanted or are worth a lot), a 50mm f1.7, the sale of which would cover everything. He did the ad quite quickly and we were both keen to do the sale before someone else found it, so I just went for it.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Well as long as you get the Sonnar. Need any more spares JR? 183912935282. Watching a Voigtlander that finishes in an hour or so, quite rare but badly listed.

Turned out to be an original 1930s Perkeo, the 127 folder.

Don't know if you lot are interested but my local library has swapped over the Pressreader app which when logged in with your library card gives access to free magazines including loads of photo mags.
