Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
At the Ponderosa this morning there was a 24-plate MV Rush. First time I've seen one in the metal, good looking machine in the current brutal, slightly insectoid style. But a starting price of £30,000. Yes, thirty grand.

Wow, that's even more ridiculous. I googled the price rather than getting it from the MV site, which shows you should never believe what you read on the Web

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
My 14 year old Yaris passed its MOT with no advisories. I inherited the car from my Dad 6 years ago and it has now done a grand total of 39871 miles. I added a whopping 342 miles since last year, not surprising since I only use it every 3 weeks to get groceries and then take it for a 25 mile scenic trip home.
Total problems in 14 years so far: a/c doesn't work since there's a hole in the condensor (I only used it for defogging windscreen anyway), 2 coil springs have snapped (thank you NE Lincs council for our awful roads), 1 brake caliper seized (I'm not a heavy braker), rusty brake lines replaced. I replaced the (stop/start) battery after 10 years because I thought it was about time (new one doesn't seem as good). Set of tyres (surprised at that). Very slow leak from 1 wheel, did it on the old tyre and the new one - I suspect rim corrosion is causing it, loses 2 psi in 3 weeks.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
On the old car I fixed seeping rims by deflating the tyre and then pushing the tyre in towards the well. i then squirted water based gutter sealant into the gap between tyre and rim then quickly reinflated the tyre. Done it on several tyres over the years, works well and easy to clean off come tyre change time

SotD is dinner tonight. Veggie and red lentil stew and dumplings. Home grown onion, garlic, potato, carrots, and parsnip. Started with home grown corn on the cob. There's lovely.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
Had a meeting in Newtown today so went on the bike.
Lovely ride on largely dry roads in warm sunshine. The bonus is that the bike is still mostly clean and just needs a small amount of road spatter brushing off. |

The Wizard of Oz is on, and Lady Poppy is watching it as she's bafflingly never seen it before! Now I've had a few (cough) shots of Famous Grouse I'm quite enjoying it too.
We're off to see The Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz.... etc....

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
Not sure if any of my neighbours saw it but I had to smile at the clouds of smoke coming off Bullseye when I started him up today far a ride out. I had no idea ACF50 would do that to such an extent.
