Re: Vintage film cameras
I'll give it a try. Can't wait for next year to see the results! (Given how long it normally takes me to finish a film.)

Re: Vintage film cameras
Wow. The only way I can beat that is when I got the MX I also dug out my Super A and found it still had a film in it, and the shutter cocked, from about 4 years before, I'd totally forgotten about it! At the moment I've got about half a film in the Konica. I really wanted to use the Super Fujica but still haven't figure out the collimation, and got other things to be doing just now.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Did a top plate swap on an OM10. Paid £4.50 for it (had a sticker from 1997 inside stating £99.99) but it has a cracked side. All works but has a odd quirk where a long exposure will cause the shutter to fire on next wind on. Fine at 1/15 and above.

Re: Vintage film cameras
I'm actually having a bit of a sort out of all the little trinkets I've accumulated and will donating a lot of stuff. Got a couple of Pentax MG bodies that will be going as well. Don't really need them as I have higher models with the same basic features and some, plus they didn't cost much anyway.

Re: Vintage film cameras
And straight off the wagon. Picked up a Petri 7S 45mm f2.8. It has been sitting at the reuse shop for weeks so I parted with £5 and rescued it. It has a slight dent in the filter ring but it is otherwise fully functional, even got the original sellers camera shop sticker inside. Took the flek out today on the 605 but I think the infinity stop is off slightly. I also took the MX with the 40mm on, but the iso adjuster doesn't work. So its currently stuck on 200. Pressing the little button and rotating the dial doesn't do anything.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Been working on a Kodak Retinette 1A that came in a job lot. The shutter would set but there was a faint click when the release was pressed. These aren't overly hard to work on so I assumed it was sticky blades. Took the escapement out and the blades moved freely. Bit more digging turns up the main spring which drives everything was sticky. Gave it a good flush and all working good. Just need to put it all back together, clean up the glass and set the focus. All should (fingers crossed) be good again!
