Re: The running thread.
I'm going to get back on track with the running again this next couple of weeks as I have some fairly full on running weekends coming up.
Got a whole weekend of running on 1st/2nd June, a collaboration between Canicross Clwyd and Canicross Powys. Saturday 1st is the Canix Clwyd leg, a 10 mile group run in the hills above Llangollen. Then on Sunday I'm leading another 10 - 12 mile run on the trails around my area in Dolanog. The following weekend a large group of us are meeting with dogs at Blaenau Ffestiniog and getting the steam train to Porthmadog. We have a reserved carriage for runners and hounds. From Porthmadog we're running the 20 miles of mountain trails back to Blaenau Ffestiniog via Cnicht and Cwmorthin. Hope the weather is good for the 20 miler! |

Re: The running thread.
So, starting the week as I intend to go on - with a run. Nice early morning run around my regular 3.6 mile loop over the allt and back through the forest. First run for a few days so kept this one short.
The Relive video is here as well. Last edited by garynortheast; 20-05-19 at 07:09 AM. |

Re: The running thread.
20 miles - are you mad?
I am still aching from Saturdays efforts, I too plan to get back on it. There are obviously a lot of mad people out there in this world, at these OCR events there are people who run Oblivion. I hadn't realised what this was till last night. Basically they run the 12K loop that I did - 4 times!! 4 times.... That's 48K and 360+ obstacles. Damn. |

Re: The running thread.
Quite possibly! It's all going to be at a social pace, and the chap organising it is allowing 4 -5 hours to do the run. Some parts of the ascent of Cnicht are going to involve walking rather than running as it's a pretty steep mountain.

Re: The running thread.
I'd been hoping to run this morning but I've done something to the base of my back. Hope it clears up quickly!

Re: The running thread.
Oh dear I hope its not too serious Gary. I got out this evening with the running club - 7 miles . My missus came too. On Strava. As too are a couple of mud run pics.

Re: The running thread.
It's not too bad Martin, just twinging a bit. Once I've been walking it feels better, and funnily enough, sitting on my kneeling stool/chair thing at the computer makes it feel better too!
Well done to both of you getting out. I'll have a look at the strava post tomorrow morning. |

Here's one from the mud run. Me going for a run with a concrete missile. Like you do.

Re: The running thread.
Interesting. I am a bit muddy, but...
I'm not at work next week. So I'll put a proper image up when back. Sunny old Norfolk beckons. And yeah I'm taking my trainers. |
