My guess is that bend is from over tightening the adapter and it spreading the clamp out more than expected and then having weight on that...although the thing ought to have reinforced elbows on those joins by the looks of that.

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Ahh that would make sense. I was trying to work out how force would even be applied in that direction

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
I've always been careful not to overtighten it though. It's one of the things it mentions in the instructions. The handle is small on purpose to make it difficult to add too much pressure. When it's tight enough to hold it would be painful on your hand to turn any further. As I mentioned, I noticed it being slightly off a while back, but it seems to have got worse. Mechanic friend also had the same experience of it gradually getting worse.
No reply still today. I have filled in the contact form on their site, emailed them separately to that and posted messages to them on Twitter and Facebook. No repsonse from any of them. Not answering phones. They have a Facebook page that you can't post on unless they verify it. Similar on Twitter. |

Just had a flurry of wet snow in Shropshire - first this year. Temperature between 2 and 3 deg C.

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
I knew it was pretty cold when I pulled up to a junction 2 mins from my house and the front tyre slipped.
It didn't fill me with confidence for the upcoming roundabouts. Still got here all ok. |
