Re: Vintage film cameras
Thats not too bad then. Found any used camera shops? Been at the bike show at the NEC today. Seen some nice kit, tried on some new bikes.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Could imagine both standing there with the phones. But of confusion with Olympus. Some say it was going under, some saying it's fine. They had a but of internal confusion but ended up putting a statement out saying all is rosey.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Got my films back and I have issues with the FRii. Out of a roll of 24 I got like three. So I'm guessing that there is a shutter issue. I'm scanning at the moment so I will post up soon. Olympus OM40 worked well as did the ST605. I also sent off films from an Apollo 120, Bessa 6x9 and a Seagull. Needs is as good as always and the Seagull works well but the Apollo has a light leak, will know more once scanned.

Re: Vintage film cameras
The first three are expired shots from the OM40, and the boat is from. The Seagull. Seriously impressed with the sharpness of the lens.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Yep. Definitely a nice lens on the Seagull. I like the Fujica 605 too; nice solid manual camera. Why does that cost peanuts compared to the K1000??

Re: Vintage film cameras
Well, my my first experience of the PRC's film processing services is fairly positive. I handed the film in first thing this morning, an email with a link to the scans arrived at 3pm and I picked the negs up after work. All for the equivalent of £2.75. (scans are bmp, not jpeg but at a much higher resolution than my local shop)
I'm a little disappointed with some of the pics. Exposure looks fine but they lack sufficient saturation and contrast for me. I don't know whether that's the processing or the conditions in grey Chengdu. Last time I used the camera at home, all the images were pin sharp but it was bright summer and all the shots were at high shutter speeds and stopped down aperture. Here, I was mostly using 1/60 or 125 shutter speeds at f4 or below. I'll post a handful up. |
