Re: Vintage film cameras
What started out as "I'll have a quick look" turned into a full strip down and cleaning. I hate working on apertures as they are fiddly to put back together. Works well now, all nice and snappy!

Re: Vintage film cameras
Good work! I've just come back from a weekend in Cologne. Didn't take a camera, we were just there for the gluhwein. There's a camera shop right next to the Dom cathedral, I took a couple of pics, will have to post them. They had a massive range of old cameras, from boxes and 3-speed folders to electronic SLRs. Nothing actually of interest except an Olympus 35RC, but whatever it was, it was a lot of money.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Ah, Weihnactsmarkt. Ugh, Gluhwein and the egg nog, you can keep it, much prefer the hot chocolate and currywurst. We went there a few years ago for the markets and I know the shop you mean. They had a FED 4 with a printed Leica tag on it. Did you find the Lindt museum down by the Rhine? There should have been another small market there not far from the ice rink. I think Aldi or Lidl are selling gluhwein if you want more.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Eggnog mings! Yep we saw the museum, and the market on the island. Last time we were there (2011) there was a guy dressed as a pirate selling crepes, he looked like someone had shot his dog, my wife is still chuckling about it now!

Re: Vintage film cameras
We didn't go in for a tour, just bought some chocs in the gift shop. Would love to go to the Berlin markets though. Took my Trip 35 last time.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Thanks, I certainly wasn't expecting it! We had our Christmas buffet and secret Santa at work, but you've won. Does it need any fiddling with, do you know? Lens looks lovely. A box of Poundland's finest is defrosting as we speak.
