Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Aye chin up LPH
Got mugged by the Post Office because 3 of my Christmas cards didn't fit through the standard letter slot in their gauge, just because each had a decorative foam nose that made the envelope a tad too think. A quid postage each, because no 2nd class postage for Christmas stuff either.

Phone zombies. Town is busy enough to navigate without some mindless pedestrian walking without looking where they are going!

New computer systems at work, that don't work how they should.
Outdated IE browser, and Chrome shortcuts to the app don't work either.

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Today was supposed to be a good day. I've been looking forward to it. A good friend of mine is getting married and I'm going to the reception this afternoon. However the garage has been broken into overnight and my Van Van damaged as they tried to hot wire it. Power tools / tools stolen but for some reason they left my snap on socket set. So today I'm going to be shopping to get new and better locks then fitting them, before the scum come back. Hopefully I can still get to the reception later. So now I've had my first feed, so shower time then make a start. Question is do I waste time reporting it, on the off chance they get caught today out shoplifting and the police find my gear ?.

I would report it, you might get lucky. If anything you will need a crime number in order to make an insurance claim. My bike got stolen in June, got a letter in September saying they had exhausted all leads and basically they couldn't do anything, but would contact me if anything showed up.

Crap. Sorry to hear that.
Always report it. If only for the stats in your area as funding for Police and where they focus attention depends on it. There's also the very small chance they get them and you get your stuff back. I wouldn't get my hopes up though. |

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Well I got to the wedding late, so just stood at the back. Was late because the police came out followed by SOCO and spent about an hour and a half with us. This is because the garage is attached to the house with a door into the kitchen so it was a burglary. Came to no good as they had worn gloves and left no blood etc, still they did make an effort and if any of my stuff turns up they know it's mine. Hopefully get the locks upgraded before bed. Side panel gone from the bike and I'll have to spend a couple of hours splicing, soldering and shrink wrapping the wiring. For many years there were MOD houses on the street that had Sgt's, Colour SGT's, CSM's and RSM's in them and so we were a crime free zone, the scum must now know they've been sold.
