Hey bluepete - What camera and equipment have you got there, and how is the camera mounted?. The results are spot on.

Pete has flat bars on his pointy, not the clip-ons. So he has a nice round bit of metal to mount the RAM mount on. His vids are usually awesome, that one chasing K on the N Vs South is particularly good (not least cos it's k in leather in shot )

Asking about NW3 already? :O

Seriously though Claire, no-one gets left behind. I take the opinion that most of the roads in the area (North Wales ish area) I can ride whenever I like at whatever speed I like, so generally on the bigger planned rideouts I sit at the back, acting as back-marker to ensure that no-one gets lost etc.

+1

It was pretty fun sitting at the back for the last one when i did. Learnt about defensive riding, holding vans up behind, riding on other side of road on straights.

I find I notice a LOT more, and think about wierd stuff when I'm at the back moving pretty slowly. Last time out with melody for example, at a completely random part of the ride (on the second day) my thoughts turned to "wheelie bin by the edge of the road, obviously bin day round these parts, might see the truck somewhere."

I kind of go through the instructions given to you by the DAS instructor, but just talking to myself.

The defensive part only really comes into it when you have to help the person riding with you IMO (like holding the vans back etc).
