It would be a long bloody day though...not arriving at base until after 6....I'm game if you are though to do the scenic twisty route, it would be a good adventure

Andrew, you mentioned getting stuck at Helmsley, will it be that bad? Looks like a gorgeous bit of road to miss if diverted from....is it this I need to be worried about: http://www.helmsleyarts.co.uk/shows+on/20-06-2014 really, does it attract that many people?

No its the Farmyard Rally http://www.farmyardparty.com/farmyard-party/directions

It will be about the same time.
The route would be:
- A1/ A66 services
- Barnard Castle
- Stanhope
- Allendale
- Hexham
- Campsite

as an example! from Southend-on-Sea it should only take you 8-10hrs including lots and lots of stops. if your taking MW for 1/2 of it then you can knock a good 2hrs of that.

personally MW's do my nut in and i find them more tiring than the scenic route.

I know what you mean, frustrating as hell...

So, what do you think guys, you up for this? Again I worry about running out of fuel....I wonder if my jerry can fits in my panniers lol...

edit: Guys, fuel at Wisbech (point D) then M180/A15 (Point J - 115 miles) then A1/A66 services (Point T - 100 miles)
