Re: Memorial ride...
Don't get hung up about getting left behind.
Go at what pace you are comfortable with and enjoy the ride. Nobody will have a pop at you for going slower than everybody else, well they might but I would imagine it would be in jest. The TV ladies and gents are a nice bunch and wont alienate you for being near the back of the pack. Go on the ride and enjoy yourself. |

Can I be honest? The guys with the biggest cahoonas are the ones that stick to their own pace and don't try and keep up. You find out early on that some guys are faster than others. Always stick to and below your own limits. Just be safe in the knowledge that everyone in front will wait at the next junction. [Telling off mode] Which means guys that we all need to actually wait at each junction!!!!!!!!! - Even I don't have confidence that some of you will actually wait - so lets sort that out before we have another accident!!! It is all very well when people say "no matter what happens I just stick to the guy in front" but that isn't very considerate or helpful[/Telling off mode] The ride on Saturday will be very chilled so it will probably be a good one to get some experience on.

Don't worry, I suspect the pace on Saturday will be rather slower than the full-speed hoon we did round Bucks a couple of weeks ago and you didn't do a bad job of keeping up then.

Our last few rides have worked well with a combo of mirrors and the odd marker for when the groupd gets a little seperated. No need to worry, just ride at your own pace and we will take care of you! |

Re: Memorial ride...
Don't sweat it. I have this big yellow streak that goes all the way up my back. Written on it in more yellow, it say's "beware, carefull and painfully slow rider in front".
