Exactly. I know I'm not exactly a pro mechanic but sheesh, if I can put the old one back in so easily I dont see why a new aftermarket built to spec shock should be any different!

there is no way you should be stripping a high tensile bolt at that poundage.

so as NTECUK says the pitch of the nut might be wrong or Nitron have a batch of dodgy bolts.

do you have an extension bar on the socket?

Dunno - hope its their fault though becuase I cant see what I am doing wrong. Even then, there is the mystery of the length of the bolt and the fact that I had to use 2 washers one end to even it out.

No extension bar. Just socket and wrench.

you do know that the kawasaki nut & bolt are know to work perfect with the SV.

i don't know why Nitron just don't put a bloody timesert in the SV cleat. it would save a hell of a lot of hassle.

To me, the thread of the bolt looks too long. The one i have for mine, goes a few threads through the nut and that's it tight.

They sent you an imperial nut on metric bolt? Or a crap nut.

Next time assemble thing in your hands before on bike, see if nut feels snug on threads, if it rattles up and down a bit then it is likely to strip again.

If it's sh*t then go to a local engineering supplier and get another one.

Also this is a metric bolt... why the ft.lbs?

No point saying spring rates in units of force only, it is force per displacement you need... for example in common units if you meant .8kg/mm that would be equivalent of 45lbs/inch spring and a bit soggy at the back...

Mine only had 4000 miles on it. I ended up using part of the original shock fork as a low profile nut to maximise clearance when I fitted a ZZR14 shock, but the difference in clearance on each side was noticeable.

Dunno, it would seem that way (re: wrong nut and bolt) - but twice?

Also YC, I will definately assemble it in my hands next time round.

No idea on ft/lb, I asked, and someone told me 36. So I dialled it in
