The Mc Donalds is where the circle is indicated. Watch out as the entrance into it is left just as you come off the roundabout.

Right. Multimap tells me that A55/A49/M6 is quickest, at 2h28mins. Also A5/M54 is shortest, at 2h53mins.

Now, can I make up for 35mins by overtaking on the A5?? I reckon so

What time you planning on landing at Matlock, I live about 20 miles away from there....towards chesterfield way.Might be able to nip down at lunchtime (depends on prior kiddie commitments)....so cant put myself down as a definite.

If you see an old bird trotting up and down on a silver naked sv, with possible a red vfr in tow...its probably me, so say hello. but if I am not around...then have a good day.

I know most of the way past Yoxall. I'll do a map next weekend when back from TT.

Cheers Keith

looked at the route on autoroute, got to be better than the A38 unless we are planning to get to matlock quickly.

Yeah, you don't want to do the A38 .

Lichfield, A515 to Ashbourne then would have said the B5035 past Carsington Water, but they've recently put in loads of double whites , so maybe A517 to Belper then A6 up which is what we did on the way back from Matlock. Nice road I seem to remember.

Still toying with getting my tyres sorted in the week and coming along for this one.
